Letter 2

Hello our little one

Still don't know what to call you as I'm not yet 100% sure what exactly you are (boy or girl?). Pero one thing's for sure, you are showing signs that you are going to be an adorable little kid.
One day while I was sitting watching TV you kicked me for probably 5 straight times, and they were really hard but not painful. Just something like I was being poked at for a few times. I was so excited I called Daddy so he could feel you too. But what do you know, you stopped kicking when Daddy came. Almost like saying "lokohin ko kaya si Daddy, di ako magpaparamdam!" Then when Daddy left to cook dinner for us, you started to kick again, I asked Daddy to come and feel you, but then you stopped again. Nakulitan si Daddy sa yo.

But I think you might just like Daddy - although I'm not even sure if you know what or who a Daddy is. He's the guy who reads you those Little Miss and Mr stories every night and speaks to you in Cantonese. He's a really cool guy, trust me. He may not be the person who nourishes you, but I bet you, whatever I eat is because of him (sya kasi ang cook!)

I love that you kick me everyday, its an affirmation that you're alive and literally kicking. But more and more, I am falling in love with you. I don't know how that's possible to fall in love with someone you don't know, and haven't met. But you have captured Daddy and Mommy's heart already.

I bought your first pair of baby shoes. It's organic! Shows how Mommy is going to brainwash you about everything environmental (har har). I'm sure you won't be able to wear it right away, but I bought it anyway because I wanted us to have something to hold to remind us of the exciting times ahead.

I hope that when you grow up and cause me and Daddy some heartaches (which every kid gives to their parents), I'll remember this time when you were still inside of me and how you made us feel.

Sleep tight my baby and don't poke Mommy too hard okay? We're both a team here!
