Climate Change

I am now in Manila working on a project for the company I work for. I am now watching Oprah and it's about Al Gore's Inconvenient Truth.

I have always been a believer of climate change, and spent my Masters in Oxford specialising in it. I don't use it much at work and sometimes I wish I could.

For anyone reading this, please, please believe that climate change is happening and there is a way for us mitigate it. Take public transportation or buy biofueled gas. Find out what climate change is all about and believe it! I've known about this since 2001/2002. And if you choose your power source, choose renewable!!!

You can do something about it. There aren't a lot of environmental scientists in this world and I'm glad Al Gore's documovie is getting the message out. We've been trying to share this information to people.

If you still haven't seen Inconvenient Truth, go out and see it!

My Yoga practice

I recently started to take my yoga practice seriously. I've been practicing beginner's yoga for the past year and decided in March to fully commit to a 2-3 times a week practice. I signed up to Pure Yoga on a 2 year contract (!!!) and you should have seen me trembling when I gave the lady my credit card.

So far, I've only managed to do it 2x a week, what with my business travels during the weekdays. I also managed to shift my yoga practice from early evenings (last year), to early morning classes. And I am seeing the difference in me! My body is getting toned (and only in a matter of a month!) and I've got more energy to do things (I managed to work from 5 am till 5pm on field without taking a nap or feeling groogy!). I'm starting to enjoy my weekly Hatha practice and when I feel that I want to be challenged I attend Hot Yoga. It's becoming my fave activity that I'm actually tempted to try doing this for 4 times a week. But, I think I should try to get 3 days a week in first.

On another note, I have never been this healthy in my life! I have cut refined sugar out of my diet (only because it triggers sore throats) and have been eating brown rice for the past year. Mike is a convert of brown rice as well and we only have brown sugar, brown rice, brown bread and brown cereal at home. I am now religiously eating my vegetables for every meal and fruits twice a day! My mom would be proud!

I am proud too. My body and health is doing well and its affecting my outlook on life. I am calmer, more understanding and less anxious about things. I know that I can't control everything but what I can control (like eating habits, my yoga practice), ironically help me accept the things I cannot control. Even my best friend Caris noticed my unusual calmness when she called me at work a month ago.

Who knew that a change in diet and a change in exercise could change my inner being so much?
